1960s Music History in Lamby's Words
What Happened in the 1960s?
The 60s was world-wide crazy all over the place. This decade was filled with a lot of people doing a lot of weird stuff that, if you asked them about it now, they don't remember it much.
This Lamb will sum up the 1960s: Elvis left the military. Motown was founded. Beatles invaded America and infected the girls with Ringo, Paul, John & George disease. Mary Poppins sang about a Spoonful of Sugar. Rolling Stones sang songs this Lamb is not allowed to hear until he's grown-up. In fact, there's lots of stuff in the 1960s I'm not old enough to know about, which is why this Lamb has recorded only a few songs for now.
Dad says the 1950s and a Cold War in Cuba Pig Bay and Vietnam marches and politics made people crazy in the 1960s. When they put a man on the moon in 1969, the world stopped to watch a giant man step on a small eagle. Music was exciting and dangerous. Folksy doo-wop saxophone songs suddenly turned into Motown rocky British band sounds. Hippies were born in Volkswagen buses in California. 1960s music went crazy thanks to hippies and Beatles.
